Faculty Position in Business -Accounting

The College of Business Administration, an ACBSP accredited program invites applications for a tenure track, assistant/associate professor in Accounting beginning August 2012. Rank will be negotiable at either the assistant or the associate level based upon academic credentials and experience. We seek a talented individual with a demonstrated record of professional experience in the field, teaching excellence, experience teaching diverse learners, experience integrating technology with instruction, a willingness to teach traditional, blended and online graduate and undergraduate accounting classes, and demonstrated/strong potential for future scholarship. The BS in Accounting program has a decades-long reputation for producing outstanding accounting graduates that are highly sought after by businesses.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be expected to teach graduate level
and undergraduate courses in accounting on-line, on-campus, and at regional offsite locations. The
teaching load for this position is twelve credit hours per semester. On-line teaching is required.
Graduate level teaching responsibilities may require evening hours. Candidates will also have
responsibilities in advising undergraduate students, engaging in service activities internal and
external to the campus, and remaining current in their field.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Earned doctorate in Accounting (preferred) or other related area,
ABD's will be considered.
* Three years of undergraduate and graduate teaching experience
*
A record of scholarship
* Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues
* Excellent
written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Additional Desirable Qualifications
* MBA, MSA, or MST
* CPA - Strongly preferred
*
Experience using online instructional technology
* On-line teaching experience
* Evidence of
scholarly activity
* Practitioner or executive experience
* Membership in professional
organizations (NACUBO, AICPA, IMA, FASB, AAA, NHSCPA, etc.)
