The man charged in the fatal shooting of two teenagers and the wounding of five others at a South Side chicken restaurant this week was ordered held with no bond today.

Arthur Chaney, of the 6600 block of South Peoria Street, did not appear in bond court this morning because he was at St. Bernard Hospital and Health Care Center being treated for sickle cell anemia.

Chaney was charged with two counts of first-degree murder and five counts of attempted first-degree murder, according to officials. His next hearing was set for Tuesday.

Police said a fight broke out between two people outside the Church's Chicken restaurant located on the 6600 block of South Halsted Street Tuesday night. The gunman chased the other person inside of the crowded restaurant and opened fire, striking several people, police said.

Jawan Ross, 16, and Dantril Brown, 17, were killed. Five others were wounded and taken to area hospitals, police said.
