Sony Mobile has announced that they would start rolling out Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) update for remaining 2011 smartphones; Xperia arc, Xperia neo, Xperia mini, Xperia mini pro, Xperia pro, Xperia active and Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman starting next week. They started rolling out the update for 2011 Xperia devices in last month after it was delayed. The update started rolling out in India at the end of April for Xperia arc S, Xperia neo V and Xperia ray.

Sony Mobile has also announced that Xperia PLAY would not be upgraded to Android 4.0 due to lack of stable experience in gaming. They even released a Android 4.0 beta ROM for Xperia PLAY in March, for developers to test the stability of games.

Xperia S would get the update the end of June, which was expected in Q2. Xperia P will follow it, but Xperia U owners would have to wait till Q3 2012.

All the remaining phones would get Android version 4.0.4 instead of Android 4.0.3, that would be rolled out for Xperia arc S, Xperia neo V and Xperia ray soon. This would be phased roll out over several weeks and it may vary based on a specific phone model and the county.
