069 ? Half Size Me: Weight Loss Success With Rick Who's Lost 190 ...

069_ImageIn this episode of Half Size Me, Heather interviews Rick, who?s (so far) lost 190 pounds! And he did it by changing his eating habits and challenging himself through exercise.

Rick?s Bio: ?I?ve been overweight since I was 8 years old.? At my heaviest, I?d say I was near 450 pounds, but I know for a fact that on February 14, 2012, I was 426 pounds.? That?s the day I woke up with a newfound determination.? The night before, I had a pizza binge after a bad day at work.? It was my normal source of therapy.? But that night, I stayed up, sick with indigestion. It got me thinking just how much of a waste my life was becoming! ?I deserved more. I deserved, at least, to make an effort to lose the weight.

Since that time, I?ve slowly built a healthy lifestyle.? One step at a time, I?ve made changes that have created the life I live today.? The first week I walked 15 minutes a day and gave up fast food.? The next week, I added 5 minutes to my walk and gave up soda. I continued that approach and kept building up those steps.

Today, I?ve lost 190 pounds and weigh around 236 pounds.? I?ve run 2 5k?s.? I joined a gym, and I love lifting weights now.? I?m working with an online trainer to take my training to a new level.? I hope that my story can encourage someone who may think, ?What?s the point? ?I?m too heavy to do anything about it.?

To them I would say, forget the big numbers and focus on making each day count.? Take it one step at a time.?

This week?s quote:

?Was it you or I who stumbled first? It does not matter. The one of us who finds the strength to get up first, must help the other.?
